We are proud to share Abby Garrigan was the student speaker at Pennsylvania Music Educators’ Association’s advocacy day in Harrisburg on March 30, 2016. As Salisbury’s High School musical group Descant Get Enough was scheduled to perform in Harrisburg on that day, Salisbury was invited to showcase a student speaker during the press conference (which also included speakers from PMEA and a teacher).  View the event here.

When presented with the opportunity to speak at a music advocacy day for the Pa Music Educators’ Association, Abby wanted to speak because she feels passionately about the importance of music in our schools. Nervous at first, she found herself comfortable at the microphone as she believed so strongly in her message. Abby is glad she took the opportunity to speak and was proud to represent Salisbury at this important event. Watch the Video of Abby’s Speech.

Abby Garrigan is a member of the class of 2016. She was a member of both the concert band and concert chorus as well as a 3 time member of Descant Get Enough and Lehigh County Chorus. Abby was also active in theatre at Salisbury and was a 3 time Freddy Award nominee, and a Freddy Award recipient as part of a small ensemble this year. She will be continuing her education as a music theatre major at Temple University in the fall.

Abby made us Falcon Proud!
