Designated by Congress in 2010, House Resolution 275 names the week beginning with the second Sunday in September as National Arts in Education Week. During this week, the field of arts education and its supporters joins together in communities across the country to tell the story of the transformative power of the arts in education (from artsactionfund.org).

During National Arts in Education Week, the music and art teachers celebrated on Facebook by sharing photos of Salisbury students participating in the arts.  Studies show that students who participate in the arts have success in society, develop creative thinking, engage in responsible risk-taking, and learn teamwork (www.nafme.org)  We are proud of our music and art students and all that they achieve. Look for additional photos and videos on social media celebrating the students in the visual and performing arts throughout the school year. Check out the hashtag #BecauseofArtsEd
