SEF Mini-Grants Awarded!

by Lynn Fuini-Hetten on March 28, 2017

The focus of the Salisbury Education Foundation is to provide funds for programs that enhance the educational experience to help students live up to the Salisbury Township School District vision to Inspire, Think, Learn, Grow… Together.  The Salisbury Education Foundation was formed in June, 1998.

The mission of SEF is to support educational enrichment and enhancement of programs for the benefit of the students in the Salisbury Township School District.

Yearly, the SEF awards mini-grants. Grant funds may be used for educational materials and supplies that are not consumable, sustainable, and do not require renewal through the Salisbury Township School District.  Teachers were notified, and the successful grants were shared during the Salisbury Township School District Curriculum and Technology meeting on February 22nd. Board President, Mr. Frank Frankenfield, thanked the SEF for all of the support they provide to our staff and students.

At the conclusion of the project, recipients of grants are expected to submit a report describing project results to the Foundation.

TWP_LehighValley_Portrait_2017_AWAllentown, PA March 8, 2017 – For the Second Year, Salisbury Township School District has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Morning Call.

Salisbury Township School District Superintendent, Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss commented on the recognition, “Salisbury continues to be a wonderful place to live, work and learn thanks to the work all of our employees do on a daily basis. We thank our employees and our school board for their commitment and loyalty to the district and hope they will proudly share this recognition with family and friends.”  Assistant Superintendent, Lynn Fuini-Hetten, shared, “Salisbury Township School District is a very special place, a gem in the Lehigh Valley, because of our dedicated faculty, staff, and school board members!  We are Falcon Proud!”

The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including Alignment, Execution, and Connection, just to name a few. ͞The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits, says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day – the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together. Claffey adds, Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
