Peanut Allergies

by Randy Ziegenfuss on March 29, 2016

Peanut allergies are not uncommon in our schools. The video below by the American Chemical Society details why peanut allergies are particularly dangerous and a new theory why peanut allergies have been on the rise.

Our school nurses, teachers and school leaders are particularly sensitive to student food allergies and take every precaution to keep all of our students safe. What questions do you have about food allergies?

Salisbury Recognized for Work with Future Ready!

by Randy Ziegenfuss and Lynn Fuini-Hetten on March 9, 2016

frs_logoLast year, Dr. Ziegenfuss signed the Future Ready pledge.  “Future Ready Schools helps district leaders plan and implement personalized, research-based digital learning strategies so all students can achieve their full potential. We believe every student deserves a rigorous, personalized learning environment filled with caring adults and student agency.”

The Future Ready framework supports the work we are doing as we vision for TL2020.  Learn more about our work with Future Ready.

During the first week of January 2016, Future Ready challenged the 430 school district teams that attended a summit in 2015 to complete steps one through three of the five step planning process. Salisbury Township accepted the challenge! While implementing this process, we reflected on our work and completed self-evaluations in the following areas: Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; Use of Time; Technology/Networks/Hardware; Data/Privacy; Community Partnerships; Professional Learning; and Budget/Resources. Only 45 districts across the country were recognized for doing this work to better plan for the future of learning in their districts.

The live event segment from Digital Learning Day is archived on the Digital Learning Day website, and the winners, including Salisbury Township School District are also publicly recognized on the Future Ready Schools website.
